How to Manage Photos in Rate My Pint Venue

This guide helps you manage your front-facing images—these are the photos customers see on the Rate My Pint map and in your venue’s profile. A compelling set of photos can attract more visitors, so let’s jump in!

1. Accessing the Photos Section

  • What You’ll See: A “Photos” tab or carousel within the Venue Home Page, displaying your current venue images.
  • How to Open It:
    1. From the main Venue Home Page, look for the Photos tab next to Events.
    2. Tap Photos to reveal your carousel of front-facing venue images.

Tips:

  • Ensure you have at least one photo to showcase your venue’s best features.
  • High-resolution images help make a great first impression.

2. Adding New Photos

  • What You’ll See: An “Edit” button or icon (often a pencil) near the carousel. Clicking it opens a pop-up or modal for photo management.
  • How to Add:
    1. Tap Edit to open the editing screen or modal.
    2. Look for an Add Photos button at the top. Tap it.
    3. Pick one or multiple images from your device’s gallery.
    4. Wait for the upload process to complete. Once done, they appear in your carousel instantly.
  • Permissions: The app may request permission to access your photos the first time.

Tips:

  • Choose clear, bright images that highlight your venue’s atmosphere and specialties.
  • Consider showing popular drinks or the unique interior design to entice customers.

3. Deleting or Replacing Photos

  • Deleting a Photo:
    1. In the Edit or Manage screen, locate the photo you wish to remove.
    2. Tap the Trash icon (often red) to delete.
    3. Confirm when prompted. The photo is then removed from public view.
  • Replacing a Photo:
    1. You could delete an outdated photo first, then add a fresh image in its place.
    2. Some versions let you directly replace, but usually it’s simplest to remove, then Add Photos.

Tips:

  • Removing old seasonal promos or out-of-date drink specials helps keep your gallery fresh.
  • Updating regularly keeps customers excited about returning.

4. Maximizing Visibility

  • Front-Facing Advantage: The photos you upload here are publicly visible on the Rate My Pint map and your profile. This is often the first impression potential patrons get of your venue.
  • Frequent Updates: Refresh your gallery with new images whenever you host events or update the decor. This keeps your profile engaging.
  • Quality Over Quantity: While you can upload multiple images, ensure each one is clear and showcases something interesting (like your best pints or your cozy ambience).

Common Issues & FAQs

  • Photo Upload Fails:
    • Check your internet connection; large images might take longer to upload.
    • Try smaller photos if you see repeated failures, or verify you have the proper app permissions.
  • Photo Not Visible on the Map:
    • Tap “Refresh” or re-enter the Venue Home Page to force the updated gallery to load.
    • Ensure the photo successfully finished uploading (you should see it in the carousel).
  • Need More Photo Slots:
    • For standard accounts, a maximum of 20 images is usually allowed. Contact support if you need extra capacity for special promotions.
